is it true that in high school musical, drew seely (the one touring as troy in right nows High school musical tour) plays the voice of zac, since zac cant sing. If so, is this the reason he is not on the tour

Yes and No. They combined his voice and Drew's voice together to create Troy's, he is not on tour with them because he is shooting the movie "Hairspray" which is a musical which means he can sing or else they would not have casted him!!!!!!

Here's the truth. It's not that Zac Efron CAN'T sing. It's not that. Okay, he's not stellar standard, but not ear splitting or anything. After all, Hairspray (the movie he's currently filming) is a musical. Drew Seeley did sing most of the songs, but Zac sang small parts:
1) The part on the balcony - in my opinion, the tune is not nearly as hard to follow without music as he made it sound, and if THAT was what an undubbed Zac would have been like for the whole movie, I am rooting for Drew Seeley all the way.
2) The first verse of Start of Something New
3) First part of Breaking Free
4) A few smaller miscellaneous parts.
I think what it was is that he was fine but had way too low a register. Putting Drew on the tour just means that Zac can film Hairspray and doesn't have to lip-synch in live performances.
And in reference to the person who says that everyone on Disney goes on to make records, that's true, but how many of them ever make it as more than a tween sensation for a little while?
Basically Zac can sing, just not well enough for High School Musical.

no. Zac couldnt make the tour because he was filming Hairspray. Yes he can sing he did some of his singing in High School Musical and he will be doing ALL of his singing in Hairspray.

In the movie when Troy goes onto Gabrialla's balcony he is singing by himself but he lip sings in Get ur head in the game but is mixed with drew for all of the other songs.

it truly is real. search for on wikipedia. Zac has a decrease voice then the songs were written for, yet he and Vanessa had a lot chemistry that he changed into solid besides. Drew Seeley sang the better notes for him, yet he really can sing. you could hear him as link Larkin in Hairspray, released in July.

99% of all people that work for Disney can sing- haven't you ever noticed that almost all of them go on to make their own albums.

He can't sing at all!!!!! Zac Efron lip synchs. He's terrible. I don't even know why anyone like him!!!!!
