My wife is 8 weeks pregnant and it'll be our first child. I'm very excited learning and reading up on what we will be experiencing the next coming months. Our first doctors appointment is in 10 days and I can't wait.
Just wondering if there are any first time dads on here and how your journey has been?

Well im a girl, but its me and my fiance's first baby and he's going through the normal stages of excitement and worry. He wants everything thats best for the baby and he jsut wants to be in every second of the baby's life. Congrats on the good news! You may even get to see an ultrasounf of your new baby and hear it's heartbeat!! It's so amazing. I cried on the bed hearing my baby's heart beatng so strong. But be ready to be there for a while...LOL...all the tests and questions.

Yes I know you said that you were looking for first time dads but my fiance is currently working. He can try to answer you when he can but in the meanwhile may I? I highly recommend the book"What to Expect When You're Expecting" for you as well as your wife. It has helped me in my past 3 pregnancies as well as this one. a companion to the book is "What To Expect When You're Expecting Pregnancy Organizer" the all in one pregnancy diary. With that diary you can keep track of every doctors appointment(s),prenatal classes and everything you think you think needs remembering with a place for it all. Then after your child is born they have the book (of the same name) The First Year and the Toddler Years and babysitting books. I'm not sure but I think they even have a what to eat when your expecting too. Anyways do what you can and when in doubt google it or ask the doctor who is taking care of your wife. I hope this is helpful for you.

congratulations and keep up the excitement during the WHOLE pregnancy...you're going to need it :):)
this is my fiance and I's first baby and neither of us were planning for it (im 19 and in college he's 25) and he's always pretty excited. if you smoke...please ttry to quit or don't smoke in the baby's room and around the baby and places in the house the baby will be...my fiance smokes and he is always smoking everywhere in the house...especially the baby room and he won't stop. i think im going to have to bar him from the room :):)
