Say hello and no one answer, hang up! You can always blow a whistle in the phone to hurt the person listening on the other end. And, if the phone rings again, let it ring.
If you have an answer machine, just screen your calls from the beginning and not answer them.

First check your phone. If it is okay then dial *69 to find out who called. It does cost about $2.00
