All iPods have standard 3.5mm headphone jacks.
However, if you claim it is smaller, then the smaller size would be 2.5mm. They sell 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapters at Radio Shack.
Most 2.5mm headphone jacks are actually for headsets on phones and I've actually seen them used for the wired XBOX LIVE headsets as well.
Also, there is a larger headphone jack size which is 1/4in. They sell 3.5mm to 1/4in adapters at Radio Shack as well.
I hope that this helps. And I'm sorry, but either you are crazy or that is not an iPod. And if it is an iPod, it comes with headphones that use a 3.5mm headphone jack which fit.

Most headphones (in the US, at least) are sold with 1/8" plugs, aka 3.5mm plugs (no, the math doesn't work perfectly, but that's how they're labeled), and I have never heard of an iPod that uses smaller jacks. Are you sure it's an iPod? Anyways, the only plug that I know of that's smaller than this is 3/32" (um, 2.5mm?), and it's primarily used for cordless phones and cel phones.

You don't have an iPod then, because all iPods come with the standard 3.5mm mini-jack standard.
What you've probably got is a cheap knock off.
