Any 'nothing" defined by human mind is "something" Vacuum as a model of nothingness is full of something, particles, atoms...If vacuum would be really nothing then the space and time will be questionable, as well as our existence...Would it be that nothing beyond of something is full incomprehensible "something" ? many new discoveries which is made is unreachable by humans senses..and exist only in a mind of researchers...before it never existed ...may be that would be considered as "nothing"? That which exist beyond of our current ability to comprehend? Would it be that "nothing " exist" ? yes.....Would it mean that "nothing" does not exist? Yes...For both.and it is not a contradictory for our universe... Would it be that our consciousness creates "something" from 'Nothing" ? That Idea already bothering some scientific streams...That means we discover our own creations...or we do not discover, but create that which we discover...not even aware of our main ability to create...There is plenty to deliberate with...

Since something means an existence..nothing means that there is no existence.. the word "nothing" is something.. but the way we refer the word in our minds is the clear definition.. not anything

Nothing is the absence of something. In essence, because nothing is defined as something, then nothing has to be something. If we say the box contains nothing then it really contains something..."nothing".

The word "nothing" is context driven.
In everyday communication there is no ambiguity.
Many have ideological axes to grind, so their definition of even the simplest words become a minefield of complexity to preserve their point of view. Case in point our glorious commander in cheat debating the meaning of the word "is" to suit his own agenda.
What you need to do is define the term according to your perception and don't be dissuaded from your position regardless of the rants and raves of others.

I think the word nothing is something because if nothing else it is a word. Also the state of nothingness is something b/c its a state if nothing else. However if you have nothing, then nothing is nothing. send me a email if u wanna talk more bout this sort of stuff

"Nothing" does not exist. It does not have a face or a body. It can not even be called "it" because it does not exist. "Nothing" existed (outside of God) only once before - prior to Creation. But now it does not exist because even an empty box has something in it, even if we call it "Vacuum."

Taoist believe that "nothing is something".
Because having a clear mind allows you to see whats in front of you and in the long run allows you to find the simple truth, which is valuable (a.k.a 'something')
While being highly educated, and thinking you know everything (filling your mind with something) is worth nothing, because it clouds your mind to the simply truth.
lol, alot to wrap your mind around, but its interesting.

Pure nothing is absolutely of the highest possible level of order. This is where entropy is exactly 0, at its uttermost floor, and if people believe that entropy is a measure of disorder, then "nothing" where entropy is zero is perfect order. Maybe God is nothing?

I think of "nothing" like the number "0." It's not negative, it's not positive. It has value and at the same time no value.
Ouch. Now my brain hurts.

Nothing is bounded on the upper limit by the lower bound of something. Nothing has no lower bound.
