remove the engine from the vehicle? And is the rebuild very involved? The problem I am having is the bus stalls as soon as it gets warm and kicks down....It also seems it drains the battery even though the generator pushes almost 12 volts. It seems to run strong when its cold. Everyone I talk to is saying its something internal , such as rings or valves , I'm not so sure though. Any info would be apprieciated. Thanks!

likely worn pistons..you need to replace the rings, and decarbonize it at the same time. It is a huge job and you better have someone who has experience with you, or you will never get it back together again.

I have never had a Vw bus but have had several cars and the motors are basically the same.A Vw is one of the easiest engines I have ever removed and rebuilt. It is held in by 4 bolts and the best way is to have the rear of the vehicle up on jacks or blocks and just let it down to the ground.I also had another problem that you are having with the generator and could never seem to get it fixed.I finally had someone change it over to an alternator type system.

First paint flowers and peace symbols on the side. Line the interior with purple and pink shag carpet, Then light up a fatty and don't worry about it, everything is groovy!
