check, your operating system could be having some missing files, or corrupted files. did you recently install any software which might have caused this? if so uninstall those software. also, check if there are any missing updates, patches or drivers needed for your connection and install those. go to windows update to check and update.

Connect your computer directly to the cable modem or DSL. (If DSL , and your DSL device is a bridge mode device, you will have to install the DSL providers PPOE software)

Now , if you do not get dropped, the culprit is not your ISP.
Check your router logs for service errors and if wireless, make sure you have a unique SSID and you are using some kind of security like WEP or WPA)

If you still have probs, then run a good spyware freebee like adaware and do a winsockfix (available online).

No luck? contact your ISP and they have something to work with.

if i were you i would get the comptuer to a computer store so it can get fixed because it sounds like there is something more serious going on. when my laptop was crashing my hard drive was actually dying so i had to get it replaced.
