Your car has a drastic curve in the fuel tank entry hole. The pumps you frequent are also very forceful which makes the spout think that the tank is full because the fuel is being kicked back to it. Try backing the fuel handle out as far as possible the don't squeeze the handle too hard. If you do too much is going in too quickly and, the same results will happen.

If putting the nozzle only partway in doesn't work, try turning it to the left or right. The shutoff mechanism activates when it detects what it thinks is a bit of backpressure that occurs when the tank is almost full. Somehow, it senses pressure when it's all the way in, and shuts off - maybe the sensor is right up tight to the filler pipe, and it thinks that the tank is full.. By turning it or by putting it only partway in, you're hopefully letting the sensor be clear of the side of the filler pipe, and it will work better for you.

don't pump the gas in so fast, try only half throttle on the pump to start and then gradually increase pulling pressure, my new trailblazer does this sometimes and thats what I do when it acts like that.

your filler spout is not venting like it should. A common problem on newer ford pickups. They have to reroute the vent line and filter.
