My son was born at almost 36 weeks and weighed 7 and a half pounds. He was discharged within 72 hours, just like a full term baby. You just need to watch out for jaundice when the baby is that early. :) If they start turning yellow...take him/her to the doctor ASAP. Mine was super jaundice and was almost admitted back to the hospital for it...but it all turned out ok and now he is an 18 pound 5 month old :) Good Luck

My little cousin was born at 34 weeks, about 6lbs, and because his apgar scores were great they just kept him in nicu for a few hours to monitar heart beat and make sure his temp stayed up. He was released to room in with mommy probably only 8 hours after being born. It is all on how the baby is when they are born, if lungs sound good, and all other vitals are good then i wouldnt expect a long stay in the nicu, most hospitals put a baby thats under 36 weeks in the nicu for some period of time, just as hosptial policy. I hope everything go's well, and with you being 35 weeks I wouldnt worry to much about him being in there for a long time. GOOD LUCK!!!

I had my son at 35 weeks. He was very healthy. He weighed 4lbs 15.6oz and was 17 inches long. I had a c-section and both of us stayed in the hospital for 3 days. He was not in the nicu at all. He had no problems in eating or anything.
I had pre-eclampsia and they could just not stop my labor before that i had went into labor at 33 weeks but they stopped it.
Good luck and try not to worry. My son done fine and now he is 5 years old.

my third daughter was born at 36 weeks weighted 5lbs 1oz. she wasn't in the nicu. It all depends on how well the baby is doing after birth. If their lungs are mature and they can breath on their own without any complications and keep their body temps up then most of the time they get to stay with the mothers. My son on the other hand was born 2 days shy of 38 weeks and was in the nicu for a week and a half because his lungs were not mature enough and needed alittle extra help. he weighted 6lbs 5oz

My 1st son was born at 34 1/2 weeks and weighed 6lbs. 10 ozs. He did not have to spend any time in NICU, although he did have oxygen for about 10 mins. The doctor said if he'd gone full term, he'd have been close to 10 lbs. and that my body started labor early because he would have been too big for me to deliver naturally. Stay calm, try not to worry so much (easier said than done), and good luck!

I had Thomas at 35 weeks precisely and he got here out completely healthful. He weighed 5lbs 8 oz..and alter into put in NICU from 2am (while he exchange into born) until 10 am that particular same morning for assertion. He exchange into respiration fantastic and lively so as that they moved him into the popular newborn nursery at 10am and he stayed there until i exchange into discharged 2 days later. They did put in a feeding tube as precaution so as that they'd computer screen his respiration to confirm he exchange into doing that fantastic on his very own however the tube exchange into bumped off the day i exchange into discharged (2 days after delivery) yet they gave him bottles at a similar time as the tube exchange into in. He exchange into moved to the baby's wing for greater assertion and to confirm he could take the bottle ok. He exchange into discharged 2 days later and has gained merely approximately 4 kilos considering then and he's merely 6 weeks previous!!! they are announcing that 35 week toddlers are appropriate on the bubble and can bypass the two way. for sure each toddler is diverse and that i choose you success which includes your new kit deal of exhilaration!!!

My son was born at 35 weeks, he was 5 lb. 9 oz. he did not have to be in the nicu. the only problem was keeping his body temp. warm. he would loose warmth. he was in an incubator for only the first day, after that he was fine. he came home with me after the 3 days we were in the hospital. (I was in there that long cause I had an infection)
