I've read that using tampons is not healthy for your body. It's not natural and can cause a lot of problems including endometriosis due to the dioxins used in the process of making them. I'd advise using menstrual pads designed for heavy periods. My favorite is Always. When you use a cheaper brand they don't provide good protections. Also if you have very painfull and heavy periods you may already have endometriosis, and if you think you do please be evaluated ASAP for this and also ask for some pain pills for your menstrual cycles. Hope this helps, I"ve had the same problem too for years.

if you soak through a pad you'll defintaley soak through a tampon so use both a tampon and a maxipad at the same time and you're guarenteed not to leak.

Try using a tampon. That is what I use. Using pads, no matter how big, will do that.
