Mad world was written by the band Tears for fears but it has been covered by many but the best cover is a slow version from the Danny Darko sound track. By Gary Jules. This version is also heard on the Gears of War commercial.

Apart from the original by Tears for Fears, the slower softer cover by Danny? Jules from 2003 was also done by Alex Parks (the winner of Fame Academy in 2003) on her first album ... and hers was better, but wasn't released as a single.

Tear for Fears did the original (I think)
It was remade fairly recently and slowed down a lot and I didn't really like that version. Don't know who did it though
