Yes, and assuming you're not just joking around, then we can proudly say that us Yanks started that whole thing! McDonalds started as one of the first fast food joints in San Bernadino, California, and when Ray Kroc, a businessman, applied franchise thinking to the store, it took off, and soon enveloped the entire world in greasy beef goodness.
On the soapbox for a second, as a vegetarian and just a guy who likes eating good stuff, I would stay away from the fast food too often. America has an obesity problem for that and other reasons, and it's a lot easier to work through life with a healthy frame.

this is a joke isn't it! but if you are serious, the answer is yes they do they are the fools that introduced mcdonalds to britain in the seventies or early eighties as far as i recall. however as i was a child in the seventies and eighties they may have been in the UK for longer than that. see the official mc donalds website to find out all about the fast food giant. oh and they are in very many countries around the world not just the UK and america.
