First hi everyone. I am a black preson, who like to listen to all kinds of music, and i like all types of people. I have a white friend. One day i invited her to my household, and my family freaked, they treated her like she was trash, and i dint appreciate it and now she wont even talk to me she's my best friend. What should i do?

No matter who's perpetrating the stereotype and the hatred, this type of ignorance belongs on the 50s - the 1850s!

Be friends, but if I were you, I'd let her avoid having much contact with your family. Why try to make a leopard change its spots? But if she will not talk to YOU, then you probably weren't very good friends to begin with.

Move on and understand that the whole world isn't like this, but a lot of it can be.

I would like to first say that I am 36 yrs. old and I am assuming that you are still young. Then I would like to say that I am sorry that you have now entered into the world where people do judge by color. Unfortunately, this may never change. From what you have told me, it sounds as though your family treated your friend very unfairly but you cannot change them nor can you change the fact that your friend is hurt. To truly be a friend, you can have empathy for your friend and be there when he or she is ready to be your friend again. Remember that being a friend is about giving not receiving...so give of yourself and that person will give back a friendship when ready.

No, I don't-however posting a question like this on yahoo answers isn't going to get you far. There are like nine billion people on the planet and the first hundred you ask could all deny it-being truthful or fake. It takes experience. There really is no honest way to tell how much of the world is or isn't racist.

That happens, but first, take a look at what your parents or grandparents had to endure. I can understand why they might still hold a grudge. Do i think they acted appropriately, no. I suggest dialogue with your family, and explain why you are upset. When two groups talk, and two groups listen, two groups grow.

leave a message , tell her you didn't like it anymore than she did. you need to let her know how you feel, maybe; she thinks your a part of your family and feel like they do -------- sounds like a friendship that needs mending over nothing that you or she did. prejustices are based on such weird thoughts or beliefs. I hope it works out for you , I'm sure both of you are hurting over the way she was treated. best friends are hard to find honey make it right!!!! let your family know this IS my BEST friend also!!!!

Apologize to her. A letter or card would probably convince her more than an email or phone call. Also, talk to your family. They obviously have no respect for you or your friends. They should however: regardless of skin color.

Hi. Firstly its not ur fault. I think that ur parents owe her an apology. Talk to ur parents about how much it bothered u the way they treated her unfairly. Common sense will tell them that theyre in the wrong and they will apologise. After all, she didnt do anything wrong, right?

We'll if shes ur true friend then you just have to tell your parents. Tell them that she is ur best friend and if she was black she would still be the same with the same soul!! i hope that helps a little bit.
