Honestly, I really wouldn't worry about it. When you are in labor and pushing out a baby you will not care what people think about your bush, or lack thereof. Nurses and doctors will be eyeing and putting their hands/fingers in places hands/fingers have never been before. Besides when you shave all the way the annoyance and irritation of hair growing back in is amplified because chances are your ******** will be a little tender after birth. My legs were ashy, I hadn't shaved and I pooped while pushing the baby out. Guess what...I DIDN'T CARE! Doctors and nurses have seen it all and they won't judge you for what you have or don't in the pubic area :)

You definitely don't have to shave it but you can if you want. The people who will be in the room with you (doctors and nurses) have delivered so many babies that they don't care if you're shaved or not. They've seen everything. Shaving it will expose more of you though. At least the hair can hide some of it. Remember this though. When you're 8 or 9 months pregnant, you won't even be able to bend over far enough to see down there to shave yourself. I tried to shave my bikini line at 8 and 9 months pregnant and there was no way I could see around my HUGE belly. It's impossible. You don't realize how big you'll be. It was hard enough shaving my legs. LOL

In the books they suggest you do not shave the "area" because it can cause tiny cuts that can get infected... I shaved with my first baby and just 2 days ago I shaved in preperation for this one, im 32 weeks(i have very slow growing hair, It is also easyer to do it now, over 6 weeks from now, there will be more belly in the way). I found it convienent to shave, it seemed to help with the whole after birth bloddy thing, less stuff to scrub. It is whatever your comfy with, just use a brand new razor, and mild soap. If you want you can just trim it with scissors, then you dont have a chance of getting the razor bumps. Good luck and congrats!

You may think that now, but once you're in labor you could care less about people seeing your "jewels" when you're giving birth. All you care about is getting that baby out and being able to hold your new baby. I thought the same thing. Should I shave? Do I want all these people looking at my "jewels"?? But when it came down to it, I just wanted my son out and I didn't care who watched or what it looked like! But then again, it's up to you and how comfortable you feel. Good Luck!!

It's entirely up to you. It won't matter to the doctor believe me. If you have a c-section they will take care of shaving you, so believe me with a belly that big you should not be worrying about such things unless it truly bothers you. It has no bearing on anything and the last thing you want to be worried about is an infection from having recently shaved.

Well...if you have a C-Section, they will do it for you. If you want to do it, then go for it. But then again, the people that are going to be in the room when I deliver my baby are not going to worry if I have hair on my gina or not!! I'm sure there will be all adults in the room when you deliver and your vagina won't be the first that they have seen so it's really just what you feel comfortable with. Congrats on the baby and good luck!!!

Whos gonna be there except professionals and a couple of other people. If you shave it you will expose it even more. Not to mention how it will feel when it grows back in. If you already shave then have at it. If not its probably better to let the garden grow.

Im 33 weeks and let me tell you shaving isnt as easy as it used to be, its a chore to find the darn thing. but hey if the world is going to see it might as well make it look good. I try my best. I cant stand it if its not "gone" anyways. Good luck with your pregnancy and have a good delivery. Congrats on motherhood!

Well, I'm not sure if it's still done or not, but in the 1960s the nurses shaved you when you entered the labor room.
Congrats and best wishes.

Actually, shaving your "area" will increase your risk of picking up an infection. It isn't something that is done anymore because of that risk.
Good Luck
