That state you live in is responsible. The child support would find who ever that father is were ever he is at . What zup with idiots now a days?, I bet he has kids and doesn't care about them they are the bitches. don't worried hopefully you get the child support soon. Good luck, I'm in the same situation.

It goes by which state the suit was filed in. If you filed in Florida, then Florida is responcible. If you filed in Alabama before you moved to Florida, then Alabama is responsible. Winning a case in court will not guarantee you the money though. Often you are respnsible to track the father down. Good luck with collecting.

It depend on which court handled the divorce and in which state it was filed and finalized.
You would have to get an attorney from that state to represent you. Then, you could have him/her make arrangements to have the child support taken out of his check from work. That way, you do not have to wonder if he's going to pay.

I'd say Florida since that's where the children live... but I'd seek a lawyer for advice.

well the honor system doesnt work, thats for sure. thats why the state and federal government passed such strict child support laws; they are tired of deadbeats.
1) if you are on assistance, they file all the papers for you. just ask them how to start the case.
2) if not on assistance, call your local Legal Aid office. they are in all states and most counties. they go on a sliding scale, so its free to most. look in your phone book, call your county court clerks office or your states Bar Assoc for the number.

There are no rules if that's what you think! You can do what you like - IF you want it that badly!
I wish you all the luck - but you won't need luck!
