my 1st labor was 9hrs. long. 15 mins. of pushing. Actually, she slipped out, I wasn't even pushing. Super Easy. The next one going to be a piece of cake. Uh...no! With the second one I ended up on bedrest at 31 weeks. Was put into the hosptial with pre-eclampsia at 32 weeks and delivered my 2nd by emergency c-section at 33.3weeks. EVERY DELIVERY is different. It could be just as quick and simple as the first, but always mentally prepare in case it's not.

I will tell you about my experiences and then you can decide.
I have 3 children and each delivery was very different.
My first child, I woke up, water broke, went to hospital, started having contractions, had my daughter. From start to finish I was in labor for a total of 8 hours.
My second child. He was my longest delivery. My water broke at 9pm, started having contractions (he was 6,5 weeks early) they stopped 10 hours later, because my water had been broken for so long they induced me. 48 hours after my water broke and a day and a half of being induced I stopped dialating at 5cm and 90% effaced ended up having a csection.
My third child, started having contractions at 10:30pm, got to the hospital at 11:45pm was literally screeming in pain, was sure I was having it right then and there. They told me I was only 2 centimeters dialated, my contractions were only 3 mins apart. They broke my water my daughter was born within 45mins. I had her at 12:43 am. Total time in labor 2 hours and 15 mins. It was the hardest most painful labor but quick and didn't have to push alot.
All in all I preffered my first labor and delivery experience. Each child brings a new experience that will be just as memorable no matter how long, how short, how easy, how hard, or how painful it will be.
Hope this helped and Good Luck!

Ah! I'm in the same boat! My first labor/delivery was just how they show it on the movies! My water broke in a big way and contractions immediately followed and less than 5 hours later my little boy came right out! I'm 35 weeks with our 2nd and I'm terrified of getting this thing out of me! I feel like I was too lucky with my first and now I'm going to pay. I've just been trying to keep an open mind about it all and be prepared for any outcome, I suppose that's all I can do! Good luck!

Each labor is different. My first lasted 12 hours, my second 6 hours and my third was 3 hours. When I was pregnant with my 4th child, we were worried about getting to the hospital in time since we lived 45 mins away, but it ended up lasting 13 hours because he was face up instead of face down and his head was stuck at my pubic bone. They are all different, but definitely worth it!! GOOD LUCK!

most of the time the more kids you have; the easier it gets. BUT!, each pregnancy is different and different problems occur. you won't know the answer until the time comes. My sister has 8 kids; and her 6th was the longest and hardest labor she had. She pushed for an hour and a half.

it really depends--every woman, baby, body & pregnancy are different.
my friend just had her second & it was harder than the first.
Im expecting my first any day & it was just a horrible sick pregnancy for me.
