I believe that some dreams reveal subconscious images trapped inside, but at times, their are simply the brain's way of letting off steam. Things don't mean something else. They may just exist in your dream to offer comfort and to make you laugh when you think about it.

I believe dreams do have a meaning because dreams are caused by stress in the person. A person has a dream because something has been on their mind and has been bothering him/her a lot. I've heard about many people's dreams, for example my male friend likes this girl a lot but never really told her about his feelings, although it does seem like the girl likes him back he still is afraid to tell her, one night he had a dream about how the girl he likes died. To me this dream means that the guy is waiting too long to tell the girl and that he will soon lose the chance to tell the girl, she might not die but she might end up with another guy when my friend still hasn't told her his feelings. My friend had that dream because he is stressing about if he should tell her his feelings or not.

Although I believe that dreams have a meaning, they are still very vague and can be interpreted in many ways.

Well I don't know but maybe they are a way your body can space out of reality and be without limits for a while. Probably the biggest downside to dreams, I think personally, is that you can't pick your dreams , they sort of have to create themselves. I mean think of all the dreams one could create if one had the power. But still the mind is amazing to create such things one could have never thought one could. But in the fact that they have a meaning I just don't know maybe they do or maybe they don't.

Of course your brain is going to use dreaming to try to make sense of the world around you. But as a warning, people that try to tell what that meaning might be are totally basing their theories on social relevence. For example, you're probably not going to dream about being eaten alive by piranhas while bathing like some people living in the Brazilian rain forest might.

Some dreams have meaning but most are just the mind getting rid of weird stuff so you don't go insane. The proportion of dreams that have meaning goes up if you are paying a Psychologist or Psychiatrist.

I believe it's your brain's way of figuring things out. Recapping the day, seeing people you have on your mind. I don't believe that they are trying to tell you the future or anything, but I do believe they can let you know something that's bothering you that you weren't aware of. Dreams are the purest form of who you are and how you feel.

I believe a lot of our fears, frustrations and wishes are played out in the form of dreams when we sleep. Many times these things can be symbolic, ie: our fear of speaking in front of a crowd is played out as being in a crowd naked or inappropriately dressed. I wouldn't take them too seriously, however. It's possible we dream about doing things we wouldn't do in our waking state.

I think people try to stick meanings where there aren't any in a futile attempt to gain insight into the future. Dreams are probably just leftover synapses going off or something.

I believe they do. I'm not sure of the significance of the meaning, nor do I try to decipher the meaning....unless the dream is persistent.
