It may be that we Europeans are more open minded!!!Why were you so offended? Were they naked?Or was it because of their different skin colour? So what are you...homophobic or racist?

you know what, these 2 men were just minding there own buisness. Of course this site was a little disturbing, but you have no right to yell at them and push them. No one asked you to come and watch. The reason why he punched you is probably because he fealt threatened when you pushed him. I think you are a bad influence to kids and shouldnt be so ignorent.

No one is perfect. Europeans could care less about what Joe Shmo' is doing down the street. Live and Let Live.
As far as your children seeing them kissing, you should be a responsible parent and explain the situation on your children's level. You might feel that if these men had not have been kissing, then you would not need to explain this "thing"' to your children. Well, then you are being a lazy parent. If people weren't assholes, greedy, mean, selfish, etc. you would not have to explain War, or hatred to them.
BTW...why not teach your kids love? There are enough other people in the world who will teach them 'hate'.

Unfortunately, it's still a big debate in France. Hopefully, marriage will be legalised for them soon (I'm not homosexual, by the way). But it's legal in a few countries. Belgium, and I think Sweden or Norway... I'm not sure it's very accepted in Latin countries, like Italy or Spain. But I really wouldn't know.
And I don't see what's wrong with kissing in public! I'm not talking about tongues sticking out. But people tend to not care if they see people kissing each others, in Latin countries at least (not sure about Britain, though).
If you don't like that, don't come to Europe to impose your narrow-minded, puritanical views.
PS: why is your nickname "Republican BOUDDHIST", then?!
And, NO, most gays are NOT drug addicts! Please, don't come to London again.

Making your judgement based purely on your idea of morality is plain ignorant. What two consenting adults do is between them. Had you mentioned a drain on insurance companies, or the decrease in birth rate MAYBE I would take you seriously. Too many judeo-christians get their anus' puckered over what people do in the dark in their own homes. More of your "be like me or die" philosophy that brings us such things as wars, crusades, inquisitions and the such.... God forbid we teach our kids acceptance. Lighten up. We hetero's have pretty much screwed up well enough-what can the homos do that's worse at this point?

I live in Canada, and have travelled to Europe on multiple occasions. I have also been to the US more times than I can count. Believe me, the United States has some serious sexual hang-ups that most people in Europe (and to a lesser extent here in Canada) find ridiculous. Most of the civilized world realized long ago that gay people are here to stay, and that fighting with them serves no purpose. Like it or not, they are a part of society. Deal with it.
(I am straight, for the record.)

Because they are obviously secure with themselves and unfortunately they are for the most part smarter than most of America. They realize that one person's orientation does not dictate another's. If you look at the research of families here in the united states you would realize that many of the gay and lesbians in this country are born to straight parents. Yet when a gay couple adopt a child or have one of their own they are no more likely to have a gay child.
Telling someone to stop expressing their feelings for one another in front of a child is going to make that action seem forbidden. And you know what that means to a child!!
Plus this makes us as Americans seem ignorant and idiotic!! THANKS!!!!
You need to grow up and realize that just because someone else is doing it, you don't have to! I mean you aren't going to drown your children just because some seriously disturbed people did, are you??

A different set of values. And you have hit on the problem. No one, not gay or straight should be sucking face in front of children. You did the right thing by saying something to them. But if you see a couple of straights doing this, you should say something to them also.
Morals have gone out the window here in the US. Thanks to the likes of Bill Clinton, and George Bush. Neither one did a thing about the porn industry and it has gone berserk.
No one wants to enforce the laws of our country anymore.

I hope those European guys beat you senseless with their purses. How foreign countries run their country isn't up to you. If you want it to be up to you, I suggest you move there and get involved with local politics. And I can assure you that even though it may be legal for gay marriage in European countries, there are still plenty of people there that oppose it.

how would this be a bad influence on children...although to be honest I am not a big fan of ANY huge outward signs of affection, I really dont need to see any ones tongue down ANYONES throat.
My parents always explained that it was was their choice, whilst NOT the norm it most certainly was their choice............
People dont actually wake up one day and declare from this point on I shall be GAY GAY GAY..........its pretty much, from what I have been told, a feeling they have had for as long as they can recall.............not my way of life but live and let live really.

Good for Europe, I've always felt they have a greater social conscious than Americans. They certainly are more willing to enact social change than we.
As for your behavior, you should be ashamed of yourself, not offended by their intimacy. Everyone has the right to love and be loved, and unless PDA is banned for every couple, what they were doing is fine.
