ROFL. The only positive in the off-season was obtaining Jeff Suppan and Johnny Estrada. However, the Cubs have vastly improved by having Soriano, Ramirez, Marquis, Lily, DeRosa, etc. while the Cardinals are still the defending Champions led by Chris Carpenter and Albert Pujols.

If pitching is what wins video games interior the NL critical, the Brewers did in basic terms sufficient to flow prior to the Astros into 4th position. If hitting is what wins video games, the Brewers already were and could stay the second one-suitable hitting crew interior the dept, behind in effortless words the Cardinals because of the re-signing of Matt Holliday. both way, the Cardinals are the crew to conquer interior the NL critical, notwithstanding the Brewers have virtually as good a shot because the Cubs and Reds do, that is extra ideal than the Astros and Pirates can say.

No, but they are taking baby steps forward. I'm a Cub fan so you know who I'm rooting for, but I appreciate the Brewers team. They are one of only a small handful of homegrown teams (Sheets, Hardy, Weeks, Fielder). Suppan wasn't enough in the off-season to improve the team enough. The offense gained one more year of experience last season, and likewise with the pitching staff. Mike Maddux has his work cut out for him next year. The most veteran pitcher is Brian Shouse (up and down) at 38 but beyond that they are still real young. Give them a couple more years and as long as they can hold onto their core group, and maybe add another big bat (they need someone to replace the power void left by Lee) and they will be able to compete.

No.

The Chicago Cubs are going to be better than them...
The Brewers will finish 3rd, though...that's an impovement from seasons in the past.

They need to keep Jeff Suppan and Johnny Estrada for a couple of years so that they can build a team around them to be good...GIVE the Brewers at least 2 more years and then they'll be in first place.

No way, they always get off to a great start in April, then fall flat on their faces in May, then by June they are usually 20 games out of first in one of the weakest divisions. And you call them the team to beat? I call them the the team to be beaten. Its also nice to know if you are from St Louis or Chicago and you attend a game in Milwaukee you will see all your Friends because the game will be like a home game , and brewers fans are too nice .

The last time the Brewers were the team to beat in any division, they were in the American League. They will always underachieve, no matter how good you think they are becoming. The Brewers are one of those franchises that will stay stuck in mediocrity (i.e. Colorado Rockies, KC Royals, Texas Rangers)

They are not the team to beat this year, but the time is coming that they will be. They have a great nucleus of young players and all they really need is some time to develop. They are doing it the right way now and they will better than .500 this year.

No way, the Chicago Cubs are going to be the team to beat in the National League Central in 2007 because the Cubs are going to win the National League Central Division in 2007.

The Cubs have made MAJOR upgrades, as have the Astros. The Cards will still be tough too, the division is way too close to call someone the team to beat.
