I'm not going to see it. To me it seems like yet another "we can't come up with anything original, so lets find a movie from the 70s and 80s to remake that the younger generation won't realize is a remake".
Switching some of the elements (like having the guy hooked up to the semi) just gives me the impression the studio is trying to claim "see, it's different. come see it". No thank you.

I don't think it is worth seeing. Any remake I am very careful about because I don't want to be disappointed. It's better to wait for any scary movie on dvd because it's not worth the risk since about 90% of horror movies that have been out in the past 10 years has been a let down. I liked the original. It was creepy, so I'm not expecting this one to be as good as the original.

I plan on seeing it, but not ill it hits DVD.
I try to look at remakes and movies made from books as entirely different entities then the originals. It is fairly easy to do, go in with absolutely NO OPINION on the movie look at it as its own thing, judge it on what you see in front of you, and not by what what you remember in your minds eye of something that you saw years ago.
In my opinion - and yes I realize I may be alone here - but there is NO story told today that hasn't been told before in some oncarnation. Pirates of the Carribean is just Odysseus with different beasties...

I'm still trying to figure out why the heck they are making a remake. I mean I haven't seen the original yet, although I do plan to, but I'm getting this feeling that the one they are coming out with now won't be as great as the original or the Part II, which I have seen.

Anything with Rutger Hauer in it is usually good.

It may be just different enough to be worth seeing. I loved the first one saw it on video at Halloween wtih my mom and we kept getting mad to have to get up and pass out candy. Off the subject though. Anyway if there are enough changes it may be worth it

It might be ok, but don't you get sick of these Hollywood writers who cant dream up anything new. There always making remakes. Guess they have lost their creativity.
