The only "stupid question" is one that's not asked!! I would say try bfriedema's answerer or dewcoons first, this will most likely help you, but have your mass storage device {camera} plugged in when you go to your control panel. I hope this helps you....*

When you add a new "drive" (which can include devices like cameras - anything that can hold files), the "drive" is assign the next available letter. If you already have a C and D, then the new device would be added as "e". If the camera did not install properly, that could give you an error with the "e" drive.

Your C drive is the hard drive. The D drive is probably the Cd or DVD drive, E drive would most likely be the memory card of the digital camera. check to see that camera software is properly installed.

The E-Drive on my computer is the CD-RW drive or in other terms, the drive you use to burn a CD. Maybe call the customer support number for your digital camera or your computer.

The e drive can be anything froma cd-rom drive, hard drive, flash drive or any other type of storage medium.
If you put your card in a card reader it would show up as a drive letter. if you hook your camera up to the computer, it may or many not show up as a drive letter.
see if you camera's software can still access your camera before youy get worried.

The e drive is reserved for devices with removable storage like jump drives, cameras and such. It will only show when the items are connected, and such items should generally not be connected upon start up....

On the desktop, go to "my computer" and double click it to open it. It will show all the drives you have.
