You can simplify by converting the fractions into decimals by division. In fractions, larger negative numbers are less or smaller than the smaller negative numbers (same as -3 is less than -2 and also lesser than -1). So, -2/3 is -0.6666; 5/8 is 0.6250; 1/8 is 0.1250; -4/9 is -0.4444; 4/7 is 0.5214. So the ascending order will be: -2/3, -4/9, 1/8, 4/7, 5/8.

it is easiest to see it as decimal form, but you can also find a common denominator which would be 7560 by multiplying the denominators together so that you know that those numbers can go into it, but if you put it into decimal form it would be -2/15 = -.133, 5/9 = .555, 1/8 = .125, -1/9 = -.111, 2/7 = .286, thus ascending order would be -2/15, -1/9,1/8, 2/7, 5/9

Negative numbers are less than positive numbers.
Considering -2/15 and - 1/9,
9x15 = 135
-2 /15 = -2 x 9 / 135 = -18/135
- 1/9 = -1 x15 / 135 =-18/135
-15 /135
-18/135 is less than -18/135.
Writing them in ascending order,
-2 /15, - 1/9
The remaining numbers are 5/9, 1/8 and 2/7.
Since 7x8x9 = 504
5/9 = 7x8 x5 / 504 =280 /504.
