Bring 2 sets of clothes for you (bra, undies, pants, etc), an outfit for the baby to go home in, deodorant, slippers, camera, and money for the vending machines and little shop. Usually the hosp. provides a toothbrush, toothpaste, and pads but I would call the maternity ward of the hosp you will be giving birth in to be sure! As for the packing part, I am 36 weeks pregnant and just packed my bag now because of being so close. It depends on the person, some people will have their bag packed 3 months before they are due others wait until the last minute. Pack a few weeks before your due date or whenever you feel you need to, I had my first child and didn't have mine packed and my mom had to go from the hospital to my house to pack one for me!

It was my first time too. Here goes. My hospital provided everything for the baby. A shirt, blankets, diapers, diaper cream, wipes, the blue sucker thing, Binky, formula (if you decide to do that) Everything. I did take one pair of Pj's and an outfit to go home in. Oh and if they post on-line pics an outfit for that too. For me.. I took some comfy clothes. You are going to want a few things I know I felt so dirty there is just a lot of gross things that happen after the baby. During labor... I did not have anything but wish I would of had music. Maybe a book for the nights or days you are there. because you can take a moment for yourself or if you can't sleep. And don't forget your cell phone charger. Most people will call that before the room unfortunately! Hope this helps! Good luck and don't worry everything will be fine! It is all forgotten after you see your baby!

pack at least a month in a half before your due just in case! Pack a special going home outfit for the baby. And that special blanket to keep them warm. If you want a special kind of pacifier pack it and let them know that you have your own! Same with bottles if you have a certain brand that your going to use bring it with you. They started my daughter on a plain nipple and i was using the Playtex nursers and it was a challenge getting her to use mine after she came home from the hospital. Pretty much everything else is supplied for you. FYI if you take everything out of the bassinet drawers the next nurse comes in and refills it and you have a stock on your way home. I still have my first daughters hospital blanket, blood pressure cuff, and shirts. They make great mementos for a memory box
for yourself what ever you are going to be comfortable in. favorite pj's, must have a robe they keep it cold! slippers, socks, shampoo because they hospital stuff just doesn't cut it, maxi pads are a must have because the hospitals are like having a diaper on. it's just way to uncomfortable!
during labor i had a cd player for in the room that way i could listen to the music that calmed me down.

well everyone is different I had all my things packed by 6 months, I packed a night gown so I didn't have to live in the hospital one, books, magazines, hand help games, an outfit to go home in and one for the baby, any meds you might still be on, a list of important phone numbers, toothbrush, hygiene products, pretty much anything that relaxes you. Hope this helps

You will need an outfit for the baby to come home in, an outfit for pictures (if you want a different one). If you want a special kind of pacifier, take one. I took a Nuk with me and gave it to my daguther. She did not like the ones they had. Also, bring baby nail clippers. My daughter was born with l-o-n-g nails and they would not cut them there. She kept scratching her little face. For the baby I took: cute sleeper, hat, scratch mits, booties, blanket, carseat.
For you, take comfy pj's and a good bra to wear when you have company (a nursing bra if you are, a sport's bra if you are not). Honestly, take make-up. Just a little bit. Because you will have company and you will be photographed. Just a few basic things. take your fav shampoo, soap, etc. Hospital stuff is cheap. I did not care for it. Take snacks, or have someone bring you snacks later. Socks. Definately socks......they give you those sock like things with treads. A camera. Have someone take pics of the baby right after he/she is born. Our hospital did that, but not sure if they all do. Sugar free lollipops. I only sucked on 2 during my labor, but they were nice to have. If you have long hair, bring hair ties or even a cloth headband.
As for the coming home outfit: I loved those pants with the thick band that sit below the belly when you are pregnant. They are PERFECT for afterwards. They sit comfy across your belly. and the band supports that after baby belly without being tight like regular pants. Underwear: I bought new underwear a size bigger than I normally wore. Just to be comfy. You cannot count on bikini's. In the case that you would need a C-section, the bikini;s will sit right where the incision will be. Bring briefs.....or even high cut briefs. They give you pads, but they are yucky pillow ones. I bought overnights for the first week or so, then just used regular ones.
Good luck!!!

I packed about 3 weeks before due date. bring comfy pajamas, outfit for baby, tennis balls or other massaging aids to help with labor, and anything that will help you relax (music, etc...) You also need to bring clothes to go home in (still maternity or sweats because you won't be able to fit in regular clothes for a few weeks). you should also take a few maxi pads because you will need them after delivery and even though the hospital will supply some, you might not like theirs. I hope this helps. Enjoy your baby! You are in for a great ride!

hi-I started packing when I got to my thrid trimester, lol
FOR BABY:
be sure to pack
an outfit to take baby home in
diapers
wipes
receiving blanket
a blanket for over car seat
& 2 receiving blankets to prop babys head in car seat-
you dont need a snow suit or any big coat or anything-they wont let you take baby home with one because it intereferes with the proper buckling of the seat.
oh & any kind of special bottles or nuks you want if you plan on using them with baby-the hosp will use yours over the ones they give.
FOR YOU- just the basics-you arent going to be there long & you wont use half of the stuff you pack, lol
pads
nightgown-make sure it's an old one, it will get messy
robe
underware
slippers
socks
soap, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, comb/brush
anything you may need for breast feeding- bra, nursing cover, breast pads.
you dont need a curling iron or hair dryer--most hospitals wont let you plug anything into the outlets--if there even are outlets in your room.
oh- a book or two or magazines to keep you busy.
for hubby- a change of clothes, cell phone, money for vending machines and parking lot.
plus a list of phone numbers of people to call.
camera, batteries, film & back up power cord with extension cord-they may let you plug it out in the hall to take pics if your batteries die.

I packed about two weeks before my due date. I took a couple of nice comfy pjs,a pair of sweatpants and an oversized tshirt to come home in,my own shampoo and soap,a pack of large maxi pads because trust me they are a necessity especially if you deliver vaginally,an outfit for the baby to come home in,2 baby blankets for the baby, and a disposable camera so we could take plenty of pictures.
