I think this is a great question! I don't know how the courts really determine is enough for the child. I would like to think that the absent parent would want to subsidize to ensure the child is living in the manner in which they were accustomed to living prior to the split. In all honesty I think child support should be determined by how much it costs to raise them each month then divided by half so that not one parent is shelling out more money than the other one.

I'm in the same situation as you. My ex thinks that 443.00 is enough to support 3 children on. It costs me well over 1700 a month with daycare, medical bills and other expenses. The 'man' isn't even paying 25% of that costs and he thinks he's paying too much??? I'm taking it back to court but I'm letting the child support enforcement people handle it. The guy hasn't paid child support in almost 4 months now. He can get his license taken away at this point.

Good luck to you and your situation but I've found it best to let the state in which the child support was ordered handle it. It costs you nothing. The state would rather get child support from the absent parent than them fork out money to the mother/father because the absent parent is not paying. It's a vested interest for them so use it.

Nobody ever thinks they get enough child support but it is set by the state taking in account the custodial and the non-custodial parents salaries. You dont need to go to court to have your child support raised. You go to your local ORS(Office of Recovery Services) and tell them you would like a review of your child support case. If it has been at least 2 years or a 15% increase in pay...more will be ordered. Very simple ...you fill out some information about your family and finances ...he fills out the same thing and in a matter of weeks a new order for support!

There is no legal way to get it unless he tells you honestly what he is making in a year or what he makes an hour so you can figure his wages for the year. If not then you are going to have to do some investigating into his business with possibly someone in his family. I still talk to my ex mother in law and she LOVES to talk and if you ask things right you can get any answer in the world out of her. Good Luck I am a mother of 3 and 2 of them are with an EX who dont pay enough child support for his kids either and I can honestly say that since I have 2 and I get 75.00 a week for them BOTH.

Impossible, unless you obtain court order. Sorry. In some places, where you are being supported by the state, if you can convince the government that he is avoiding child support, they will pursue, because they are paying what he should be paying.

Do you need more money for the kids if its really for the kids I would say take him back through the courts if its for YOU. I would say let it go and worry about the effects it might have on your children to run there father down every single chance you get. If you need to know real bad call & as the EX see if he will give it to you!

How do you know he's not paying enough? His lawyer and the court know how much he makes which is how child support is calculated. Just because YOU don't think he is paying enough doesn't mean that he isn't.

Are you looking to adjust an already set up child support situation?

Sounds like you've already been to court. Unless he's going to volunateer to pay more, the only way to get him to pay more is to go to court.

Unless they tell you I don't think you would have many legal options (apart from court). But, if you find out illegally how do you expect the information to help you? I can't see who you would do it without the courts help.

go to court u goldigger! obviously the judge felt he was paying enough the last time you went to court. If things have changed then take some of the child support money your going to spend at the bar, and take him to court again.

don't be greedy....be thankful you're getting something ...most single mothers aren't getting a dime....and if you think you aren't getting enough just ask for any assistance like food stamps or welfare and they'll find out for you....I'm not putting you down the only thing is that a lot of woman want more than what they get just to get even with the ex..so , think about it first ....
