According to the 2006 survey by the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), the median income for aerospace engineers is $ 83,000/year. It ranked 4th our of 12 engineering categories.
The highest median income was for nuclear engineers with $ 109,000/ yr and the lowest, materials engineers at just below $ 66,000/yr.
Regarding the computing/IT professions, the highest median income was for IT Consultants (pretty vague definition) at $ 70,000/yr. Next come Data Base Administrators and IT System Managers at $ 65,000/yr. The lowest was for Network Administrators at $ 47,500/yr.
