I have 4 month old twins and decided to stay home. I was wondering if there are any legit jobs out there for stay at home moms.

Companies are starting to contract work-from-home people for customer service and call center activity. Here is one website:
http://west.com/careers/
Go to the bottom of the screen to home-based contractors. I worked for them for a while - basically doing customer service for Office Depot and also some sales programs (like "as seen on tv" products). The pay isn't fabulous but it is certainly legit with lots of flexibility, except you usually have to work in two-hour blocks at a time.

Also, consider sales for the numerous at-home party sales groups (like tupperware, avon, pampered chef, etc) - search online and you'll find lots of options.

Congrats on your babies!!

As for staying home or going back to work, many couples find that by the time you add it all up, what you pay for gas, work clothes, lunches, daycare(for two babies!!), ect Your not losing that much (IF ANY!!) income by staying home. I highly suggest sitting down and seeing where you can cut expenses (like could you deal with basic cable instead of the deluxe package if it meant staying home with baby?) and add up the cost of working.
There are many ways to save money, (as good as making money!) for ideas visit http://www.stretcher.com/menu/first.cfm....

I can give you TONS and TONS of money saving tips if you really want to stay home. My friends lovingly call me creatively frugal! I mean how many people make homemade laundry detergent nowadays? LOL Just email me.

Just because you stay home doesn't mean you can't make money. Many SAHM bring in money (I do) there are many things you can do to bring in a little extra money.

*Babysit another child, espically great if the child is around the age of your children! (I've made $300/month this way)
*Cook for families where mom does work--people will pay good money for a homecooked meal! And it won't be extra time--just double what you cook for your own family and divide it-half for your crew and half for extra income. A great website with easy recipes is http://groups-beta.google.com/group/ever... (I charge based on the meal but for a family with 2 kids I chagre like $15 for main dish only like spaghetti $25 with sides and $30-35 with dessert)
*Clean one or two houses a week. It's a couple of hours per house a couple of days a week. And can give you a break from the kids. Have them stay with grandma or go on a playdate. (I've done some smaller houses and made $50-$75/house)
*Assist older person. Many are willing to pay someone just to take them to the doctor or grocery store or go to the store for them. They may also be intered in you cooking meals or cleaning for them. And most would LOVE it if you brought your kids along! Be good for your kids too, we can learn so much from the older generation. (this can vary greatly. depending on the need. I've made $350/week doing this full time and made $10-20 bucks just to get someone some groceries-which I buy when I buy mine!)

Don't do a business off theinternet "work at home" "make $10000000000 a month" It's all bull! Start your OWN business. May I quote the movie "Robots" it ha some good advice "see a need, fill a need"

I live in a rural area. Our hospital has no LC, there are no childbirth eduaction calsses or LCs in 3 counties. Nothing for pregnant women or new moms, so . . . After my baby gets older I'm going to open my own business doing just that--filling a need I see!

You could babysit other people's kids until your kids become old enough. Try to ask them if they could go to your house. Try to find someone that lives near you.
