I noticed that the rubber axel boot on the inside of the Front Passenger side wheel was cracked open and grease was spattered all over the inside of the wheel and Brake caliper.
Any rough ideas on the cost to repair ?
And How bad is it to drive like this before it gets fixed ?

the cv joint is already on it's way to becoming toast. Reman axles are about 70.00 at NAPA or Parts America and the labor to replace the axle is much cheaper than removing the axle, replacing the boot and the grease, then reinstalling it only to find out the joint is ruined anyway. The axle should take an hour or one and a half hours. Labor for the boot replacement could approach three hours.

Even if there were a good sealant to put on cracked CV boots they would still need to be removed to properly apply it. In this case it would be just as easy to replace the boot. High spots from a adhesive would prematurely wear out a CV boot as well.

I would get it done before joint gets contaminated. Replacing the boots themselves are expensive, there are split boots you can do yourself with axles in place if you're not capable of removing them. Clean as much as possible and add proper grease beforehand.

you can drive it till the joint comes apart. i've seen them last years open depending on your driving habits and how much rain or snow or dusty roads you drive on. when you hear clicking while accelerating from a stop, it will be time to replace it. average cost is 250 to 300 parts and labor.
