Ms.Larson. My Math and Social Studies teacher. Although she has high standards and short dead lines she has taught me a LOT!

First, thanks for this question! It's refreshing to see a positive question about teaching rather than the usual "I hate my teacher" or "my kid's teacher screwed up" questions.
I have two teachers to thank: my first grade teacher and my high school English teacher.
My first grade teacher gave me stability in my life and a lifelong love of learning. She was inspired me to become a teacher. She actually attended my wedding in October!
My high school English teacher had extremely high expectations and taught in a totally unconventional way...no quizzes or tests, no textbook; just writing and analyzing literature.
Her expectations gave me the tools and skills I needed to write successfully at the undergrad and graduate levels. She also gave me a love of good literature. She died from cancer a few years ago, and I made sure to go home to her funeral. The church was overflowing with her current and former students.
Talk about touching lives forever.

Miss Lynch

Even though she was only a sub for the whole first quarter of the year (due to permanent teacher being pregnant), she really changed the way I thought about school. She was young though and very nice. She was kind to every student. And she didn't waste her time trying to do things everyone knew no one cared about. She made learning worth wild.

My 11th grade US History teacher. He was the first teacher I ever had that not only supported me and helped me succeed in his class, but he helped me learn how to be a successful person. He was one of the first teachers I had that treated me like a person and understood my goals as he gave me the tools to reach them. I know it sounds corny, but he is the best teacher I've ever had.

Nikki Brown, She was My 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math teacher. She is a marvelous teacher who has helped me be a better student. She also has helped me plan my future and decide what career I am going to enter next year after I graduate(I am a senior in H.S. now). I am going to be a math teacher. She has also helped me get a job tutoring kids in math, for $10/hour.

My sophomore year English teacher, Ms. Pillsbury.

She was an absolute tyrant, assigning pages and pages of homework every night... and marking the errors wasn't enough for her... we had to re-do the work until we got 100%.

We all hated her for making our lives so miserable, but I gotta admit I never missed a single point on a college paper for spelling, grammar, syntax, etc. (And that was before computers/spellcheck was the norm.)

My 4th grade teacher for making our classroom SO fun and comfortable in which to express ourselves (in a good way, of course!).

She used to read stories to us all the time...hence, I've become a serious bookworm--for job purposes and as a favorite hobby.

As one of the VERY few minorities at that particular suburban school, I truly felt inclusive with all the other white students. My classmates and I really cooperated with one another--ah, memories!

Now that I've been teaching for awhile, I try to instill those positive experiences in my classroom.

My music teacher in Elementary School, Mrs. Palmer. If not for her, I would not be in marching band right now. That music class inspired me to do what I'm doing in high school right now. But it wasn't just music. We did theater in that class too. Now I'm doing both...not as a future career, but it's where all of my friends are now, and I wouldn't have them if I hadn't been in band or theater. Plus, they are THE BEST extra curricular activities EVER!! WOO!
