I am unaffiliated.

No, I am very subjective with my party in politics and government. It sounds crazy but after being alive to understand what Bush has put this country through... I could NEVER vote for a republican. I would probably just not vote or vote for the person that has about 1% of the vote when everything is tallied if it came down to me not likeing any of the canidates.

I am not voting any more, but for over a dozen years I was an active Republican supporting the party with my money, my votes, and with shoe leather. But I did not ever take the position that I would always vote for every Republican candidate in every race no matter what. I did sometimes vote for certain, specific Democrats. And I told myself that if I lived in Louisiana, I would not vote for David Duke; if I lived in Virginia I would not have voted for Oliver North.

Absolutely. Voting simply because a candidate is a member of a certain party is worse than not voting at all. I strongly believe we should all closely examine candidates based on thier stance on policies, not on party affiliations.

I'm not a member of either party. I don't like boxing myself up by committing to one party over another. I would vote for whomever was best qualified for the office. This time around, it was all Democrats who happened to be the best qualified - the only Republican I voted for was some guy running for a local county office where he was the only candidate.

Yes I am not a mindless drone with absolute party loyalty.
If the other person was better I would vote for them.

of course... I usually lean to the left, but I know several politicians on the right that I think are decent good politicians....

not even so much because I agree with them and their views... but because they represent their constituency... and do it in what appears to be a moral and legal way...

in other words... they do their job... and I think we need more politicians on both sides that do their job... represent the people... and do what is best for America...

I also know several politicians on the left that don't do their job, and I wouldn't vote for them because of that...

party lines are no excuse for incompetence and not doing your job...

and I would vote for those that would do their job...
