When I right click the file it doesnt show the normal options. It won't delete or rename? Is there a program I can get to destroy this file? Or anything else to get rid of it? It also cannot be dragged and dropped anywhere, let alone the recycle bin. Thanks

I got rid of it. Would not delete in safe mode or anything. I downloaded a file deleter that is amazing at this link http://ask-leo.com/why_cant_i_delete_this_file.html

Provided by Gowrie... Thank you very much, that link was informative and efficient.

yeah its easy to do through DOS.. go in to start, then got to run, then type cmd and hit enter.... minimise the command prompt for now and then hit alt, ctrl and delete, go to your running process and end process on the one that says explorer.exe... when that closes hit alt ctrl and delete again and go to your command prompt and change it to the directory that that you want to delete... do that and when your finished hit alt, ctrl and delete again and go to file, run and type explorer and hit enter and your all done

This usually indicates that the file is damaged or being used by a program. You can either try to delete the file in safe mode or in DOS. Press F8 after you see the BIOS screen and it will bring up the Windows boot menu. Select Safe Mode. There is a small window of time when this works, so you can keep pressing F8 until you see the menu.

Try to delete the file after starting your computer in "Safe Mode"

When you turn on your computer press the F8 key on off /on off until the start options screen appears, then select "Safe Mode"

Then try to delete the file. If that doesn't work look to these sites:

Some important System files cannot be deleted; they are needed.
