my boss has written me 2 bad checks and now.....?

i can't get her to let go of my last check.she keeps playing games.lame excuses like she took my check home or she's to busy.i told her she has to pay my wages for ea day she makes me wait to get paid.then i received my check and now she lied about the pay period on the stub to make it look like i didnt wait at all1im not cashing the check and i want to report her.i live in ca...what can i do?HELP !!!!!

First, get in touch with the local office of Labor Dept, Wage and Hour division and file a complaint.

Second, do you still have the 2 bad checks? Send "boss lady" a letter via certified/return receipt requested mail. The letter should stipulate she is to make good on the checks within 10 days of receipt of the letter.

Send a copy of this letter to yourself, return receipt requested. DO NOT OPEN THE COPY YOU SEND TO YOURSELF, and attach the returned receipt to the envelope.

Should your boss not follow through in 10 days, take the bounced checks, the return receipt from the letter sent to boss, and the letter sent to you along w/return receipt to the county prosecutor's office or local Justice of the Peace. Where I live, a warrant is issued for the arrest of the person who wrote the bad check. In my case, I was paid with the offending party charged a $60 fine or 60 days in jail. (His choice.)

if you live in canada you could call the ministry of labour and report the incident to them. they will help you get your money.

start by finding a good employer
