You can start to substitute a sippy cup for the bottle or don't let her walk around with the bottle at all-only for bedtime, naptime, etc.....(not to take to bed except with water) It's also easier if she can't see any on the counter or table(out of sight-out of mind). Potty training..... If she can take her pants down & put them back.... then maybe, but until then I wouldn't worry about it. When my 12 yr old son was 3, he woke up one morning and just out of the blue told me "Mommy, I don't wike 'em baby diapers". We took it off....I reminded him to go potty.... helped him with getting the pants on & off a little & that was that. There were a few accidents, but there was no fighting or stressing or running to get to the potty because he couldn't understand "Honey, you just need to hold it for a minute". Take some cues from her to see whether or not she's ready. he commnication & understanding level & how much she can do for herself.

It may be a little too soon for the potty training unless she is an advanced one year old. My son was potty trained by the age of 2 (only wore pull ups at nite until he was about 2 1/2) Its hard to potty train a little one that still likes the bottle. And too many changes at one time can be difficult for a child. Try taking the bottle first and go from there. Good luck

I have 4 kids. Ages 2 1/2 to 10 years old. On their 1st birthdays, we have a ceremony to throw away the baby bottles, because they are not babies anymore. The child throws all their bottles away, and we move the sippy cups into their places. If you don't get rid of the bottles now, it will be sooo much harder later. They also tend to drink too much and not get enough good food to eat if they stay on bottles too long. Sippy cups should always be introduced by 8 or 9 months, but don't let that stop you now, GET RID OF THE BOTTLES!! You can get her a potty chair and let her sit on it while you go potty, and see if she seems interested. If she does you usually see a natural progression from there, but please don't push her, most children aren't ready to potty train until 2-3 years old. Kids learn from what they see, so don't be afraid to take her to the bathroom with you. They need to learn that going potty is natural, and that diapers aren't as fun as flushing the potty after they use it.

I guess there are as many different answers to this as there are moms and kids. When my youngest son was 1, we took his bottle away from him. He threw it in the trash one day, and so we said "bye-bye bottle," and that was pretty much the end of that. He had been also drinking from a sippie cup for a few months before that, and would mainly get his bottle when he would go to bed at night. As for potty training, that was another story. I started at about the age of 2, but he just didn't seem ready. I tried again a few months later at which time he potty trained pretty easily. It really just depends on the child and when they are ready.

I'm a mom of two and when my kids turned one I took their bottle away. I had introduced the sippy cup before so they were kind of used to it. The second one was a little more stubborn so it took slightly longer but it went okay. I don't think they need the bottle anymore after that. I do think it's too early to potty train though.

I would introduce her to the sippy cup and get away from the bottle. As for potty training, you can show her the potty and even sit her on it every once in awhile, but I think she is going to be still to young to understand what she is supposed to be doing.

Take the bottle, yes. Potty train, no.
I believe that 1 is a good age to wean from the bottle. In fact, my 9 month old uses a sippy with all meals and only gets her formula from a bottle. This is a good age to say bye bye to bottle.
But you may have to wait a bit to potty trian.
Good luck!

Most children get weened from the bottle around age 1! Try buying a Nuby (sippy cup with a nipple type spout) and about the potty training, you can try but I'm not going to guarantee it will work, most kids can't even tell that they have to pee or poop until around age 2!

All depends on the child. But if it were me...I would have already had her starting on a sippy cup. Potty training...don't think I would try that yet but like I said every child is different and you have to make that decision.
