Bob Dylan being the writer and original performer for those of you who didn't know. So, who do you think sings it best?

Bob Dylan. I have an amazing live version where he adds a middle verse that is killer. When I cover the song, I do a mix of the two. I like Guns N' Roses, but I wish they would have done the extra verses or shortened the song. It was never meant to be Dylan's 'Stairway to Heaven' but GNR try to turn it into such. But if you want the killer GNR version, find the version where Izzy, not Axl, is singing.

Bob Dylan, because he's the man who wrote it. Anybody can do a cover song. Plus, there's a little too much Axl in the GnR version, if you know what I mean. A little too many annoying Axl noises...lol.

By far Bob Dylan without a doubt his best! He really writes all great songs, but he sings this one great ,better than any other in my opinion.

of course I like Bob Dylan's version the best, but I like Guns N' Roses rendition of the classic too.

wow....what a question.....
The Bob Dylan version was the closing song at my big brothers funeral in 1986.....so when I hear it, it REALLY sends me into a "zone" ya know? And then, the very next year, GnR released their version, which was really a trip....I heard them do that version at a concert, before it was released anywhere.... I hadn't really wanted to go, because my brother would of really wanted to be there, and I was still always thinkin' of him and since he couldn't be there, I didn't want to be.... But, my friends talked me into it. When they started playing the music, I KNEW that was the song, and it made me feel like "he" was letting me know "it's o.k." and that he was there. Ever since, I've LOVED the G n R version, and still do!

i like the cover done by Guns N' Roses, because it adds a touch of hard rock, and also Axl's voice is just amazing! there is something about it that is undescribable that adds something special
