No, piercing your tongue requires a larger needle than ear piercing. Also your initial tongue bar needs to be longer than a normal one due to swelling. Everything needs to be extremely clean and sterile. If you look online you can find kits for 'do it yourself piercing' and a tongue kit costs around $25 or so.

Good luck and be safe! The mouth is a sensitive place so remember to keep it sterile as possible.

NO! piercing your tongue is very difficult, and you can damage a nerve or blood vessel if you are inexperienced... plus, it can prove to be very inconvenient for you if you love eating many types of food, there are all these rules, like you can't eat warm stuff or something like that. i'm not sure what it was that you weren't suppose to eat, but even without that, it is still troubling, because what if food gets stuck under the stud? ick, that would be disgusting and unsanitary! and no, ear piercing guns do not work. have you actually seen how they work? they are meant for ear lobes, not for tongues.

god, why do so many people ask these kind of dumb questions? you just can't!! period! you can damage the taste buds on your tongue if you do something that stupid...

i am pretty sure u can but then u will have to pierce all the way through the tongue.

unlike the ear, the tongue is thicker...

so i suggest u not to do so...

u might break a blood vessel and then it would never stop bleeding...

the hospital bill is more exvensive then piercing ur tongue by a pro!!

i hope that helps!! XD

That's just plain nasty! What if you move the piercing gun by accident or miss?! You would really take a "licking"! If you must do it, I would get it done by a professional or someone with experience, but I cannot imaging trying to eat food with a nugget in the middle of my tongue; furthermore, you may increase the chance of getting infections because food particles could get stuck in the hole in your tongue and rot away with nasty bacteria, but many people do it anyway. It's up to you, but it may be quite a mouthful to deal with.

everyone has already said all of this but i guess I'll say it again.....
it isn't a good idea since you could hit the major vain in your tongue and be paralyzed or bleed to death... it doesn't cost that much to get it done so just do that...

I wouldn't try it. Leave it up to the pro's..please. Don't take the risk of getting an infection.

i suppose you Could...but i dont reccomend it. most places use a needle, and i bet it is for good reason. a lot of places refuse to use a gun.
