Get some free anti-virus and anti-spyware programs from:

I personally would recommend trying 'hijackthis' if you know a bit about computers - not for the total newbie though!!
If all else fails, you will need to think about reinstalling either your browser or windows...but I would try the anti-nasties software first.
Hope this helps

Sounds like you had a spyware visitor replace your default homepage. If it allows an easy fix, replace the default address in Internet Options with your ISP. If that doesn't work, use STOPzilla.
You can try for 15 days free. Best on the market. If this doesn't work, you may have to wipe the drive and reinstall OS.

IE8 is plenty stricter on W3C compliance and as a effect it has problems with some web content. different than for that it is plenty slower than different browsers. mean uninstall, and revert returned to IE7, or use FireFox.

that's mean you have a spyware on your PC, really the better way to solve this problem, you have to format the hard disk and reinstall the windows, and make sure that you install the yahoo Anti-Spy, as it's very good to prevent the spy ware.
