Thanks for asking the question! Apparently Robin Gibb got the melody for this song while travelling in an airplane and listened to the drone of the engine. He finished the song with the help of his brothers. He states it is NOT a love song, but a song of faith, spirituality and survival in life. See more on the site: www.napathon.net for another view.

Everyone thought the author was a joke....which was a bad thing in the time era it was written. Save that music, they are mostly all dead now.
