Unfortunately, funerals are like weddings, they know it's an emotional thing for the family and often funeral decisions need to be made in a hurry so the family planning the wedding is in a hard spot and made to feel guilty unless they buy "the best". Costco does sell caskets now.

My gma was cremated, as was a friend who recently passed. Both had simple memorial services, one at the friends's favorite beach (where her ashes were scattered), my gma's at a family members home (which was nice w/ a nice yard), then her ashes taken to the cemetary.

If the person was an organ donor, that can change things too as far as making arrangements.

all depends on what type of furneal you want now you can buy a casket online a lot cheaper then at the funreal home which can save some money. or you can plan ahead and make payments kinda like a life insurance policy only your fam. doesnt get any money and if you die before its paid off the cost is coverd by your policy

Yep that is right. For a nice funeral with what you pick out, it costs about $6,000.00. If you want it really fancy it could cost more. Cremation cost less then $2,000.00.
