When considering the interpretation of feeling pain in your dream, first look at you physical health. If you are feeling pain in your daily life, it may carry over into your dream state. Additionally, if the pain is emotional in nature, question the painful feelings and attempt to identify their source. The dream state is usually a safe way to experience negative feelings with which you may not want to deal.

all dreams are, are things that happen in your real life, if you feel scared or like your hiding something you might have a nightmare, or if your in love with someone you might have a dream with them,....all dreams are, are things going on with your feelings, if you do fall off a building its all rumors...there is no way that your dreams can kill you. So dont worry dreaming is a good thing..most people who have average lives and nothing really to worry about mostly dont have dreams. Due to no feelings. But the whole stabbing thing is because your might thinks its just real but it isnt. and it does go away when you wake up..its just your mind is into the dream and not into where you are or that your sleeping.

In reality, you probably have an actual pain in your body. I guess it depends where your pain is. Maybe you have an ulcer or something, just go for a check up if it worries you.
Or, your mind is so focused into the dream that the pain develops from your mind set. It can actually happen to... your mind will tell itself that you have a pain some where and the pain will then occur. It sounds obsurd, and not real but its true lol.
Try to listen to classical music before you go to bed. Maybe it will help your mind set. Also, are you watching tv before you go to sleep? Your brain is always active and if there is a scary movie, or something happening on tv and it picks up enough from your hearing then it will most likely occur in your dream.

It's probably something that is actually painful in reality, such as your arm falling asleep causing the 'pins and needle' feeling, or a kink somewhere from lying too long in one position. Your mind can incorporate outside influences into dreams. Have you ever fell asleep with the radio on and dreamed somebody was singing?

Your dream might coincide with something that's really going on around you. For instance if you're talking to someone, and you hear a ring or someone talking to you ~ and you wake up to an alarm or someone on the radio or t.v. Something may have happened. If you notice any sharp pains while you're awak, seek medical advice.

I think you might be having a muscle spasm (for example) and your dream picks up on it, so the pain might feel like a stabbing pain. I had a dream I was drowning and a lion was clawing my leg. I awoke, the blanket was over my face and the dog was clawing at my leg..I hope this helped

It could be deep emotional pains and hurts being released in your dreams. These are often felt as pain in dreams. If you fall off a building in a dream you may feel it but it's not real.

maybe you're lying in a way that is making you cramp or something like that. I had a dream once that a bullet ricocheted off the back of my head, there was no reason but i felt it. I don't know if it's normal.
