Google Earth is great but its images are not live. In fact, I think there are no publicly available programs that have this feature. Why?
1. It costs too much to maintain a network of satellites around the globe that constantly beam live images. Perhaps one satellite is needed per city.
2. Privacy problems - What if you use it to track somebody's car moving along the road and see where the driver goes?

Live satellite images for the general public is almost impossible currently, so I suggest you settle down with Google Earth.

I've been looking for the exact same thing lately. I've been trying to search for websites that'll allow me to watch earth live from space.

For some reason, it's awesome. I just want to see what the rest of the world looks like from above.

Google Earth = http://earth.google.com/

But this not live - but collection of images done in the past.
Live view if possible - will be nowhere near that much details (unless you work for CIA / NSA or any other TLA).
