There are 2 things that instantly come to mind......

1) When I was about 16 I was at the Change of Command ceremony for the Commanding Officer at the local Coast Guard Base and what looked like beef meatballs with bacon wrapped around it was liver with bacon wrapped around it (gross!).

2) When I was about 9 years old my mother had frog legs and said they tasted just like chicken. Let me tell you, don't believe anyone when they say something taste like chicken or any other food when it really isn't it because these frog legs did not taste like chicken. I swear the vein was throbbing at me when I took a bite. It was sooo incredibly gross.

And the memory of these 2 things still haunts me today (I shiver at the thought of them).

The worst tasting thing I've ever eaten was grilled eel, it tasted like deep fried turd. It cost me 15 euros I was well upset.

Second to this was the curried pigeon I had in Hong Kong. That was fairly grotesque, but masked by the currry sauce.

Cheers.

I came home from school during WW2, was hungry so went straight to the pantry, saw on a plate this opened tin of meat. Got 2 slices of bread and cut of a thick slice of this canned meat.
When my mother came home she told me to feed the dog, and give him some of that meat that was in the pantry. I had eaten the canned dog meat!!!

There's this Philippino dish called something like "halo halo" that's pretty bad, but not the worst. Raccoon and muskrat are quite awful. Some cuts of moose are nasty. The worst would have to be mistakes, like eggshells in your scrambled eggs or sand in your oysters. Oh, I remember now. My mom didn't quite clean all of the bumpy skin off a beef tongue, and it was a horrible experience.

A shark meat cube - hakari - in Iceland. Hakari is made by burying shark meat in sand, on a beach where it will regularly be covered by high tide, for up to 2 months. The meat is then hung out to dry for another 6/8 weeks then cut up into small cubes to be eaten.
The taste is indescribably bad!!!

First day on holiday in our caravan. Ran in whilst mum and dad were unpacking and took a great big swig of milk that was on the side in the kitchen. Unfortunately for me, it muat have accidentally been left there since the last time we were in the caravan. It made me bad for three full days! I know it's a drink, but it had technically changed into yogurt!

Oyster stew was the worst thing I have ever eaten. I did not really eat it because I could not get myself to swallow, so I am not sure if that counts?

Prawns. I used to love them but got some bad ones from a Chinese restaurant which left me ill for days. I've never been able eat them since.
