Well you've answered it.

If you're a stay at home mom - electricity is consumed during the day. Even though you don't think you're using much - the slightest activitiy ads up. You have two bedrooms and you must take into consideration the square footage of the place and the appliances. Is the residence and the appliances used energy conscious or older therefore causing more power to be consumed. Also check the insulation of the residence - heating/air can be seeping out causing the electricity to work harder/longer to heat and cool.

Electricity is really not too bad it just depends on how you use it. Plus who's your carrier? If you think you're paying too much consider keeping a close monitor on consumption and checking with other providers for a better deal.

Hi. I used Gexa when I lived in Stafford (about 5 minutes outside of SW Houston). My light bill ranged from $150 in the winter to $215 in the summer. My square footage was around 1300. I kept the air at 78 degrees, sometimes 80 when nobody was there. Had all lights and ceiling fans off during the day. Curtains closed during the day.

Could never get it under $150... Good luck.

I live in Tomball... right outside of Houston and we have a 2 bedroom apt. I stay at home with the kids so we do use more than other people who work and are only at home part of the day. Ours is always right around $200, this could be due to the efficiency of the apt and the appliances in it. I read an article that we pay more here than people in Dallas pay ( I dont know why they chose to compare our cost to Dallas). The electric companies said the costs of operating in houston are higher so they pass this on to us.

I really don't understand why yours is so high, I figured my daughter's would be high also , she has a 2 bedroom apt. w/ washer and dryer.. They do try to be Conservative, and I guess they have done well , their bill was only over 90.00 once.. the rest were all around $ 80.00 .. That is 2 adults and 1 baby.

Have them check your meter if it's too high !!

HOPE THIS HELPS

GOOD LUCK ........
