Can I get a divorce in the country where I was married, even though I live in US. I know that US recognizes marriage that was made in the other country, but if my husband is a US citizen and I am not, can he file for divorce in the country we were married at?

my understanding is that he can only file in the country where he lives.
I could be wrong about that.
Call a lawyer and ask to be sure
In the meantime RUN to the courthouse where ever you are and file for legal seperation papers.
This can stop his action of filing for a divorce anywhere as he will have to wait one year before he can file a divorce (in the mean time, you can rack up all is support money depending on your state)
