I guess you could skip down to the "learn Astrology" section on this site as a place to start:

For inexpensive, I like The Only Astrology Book You'll Ever Need. It's about $16 at Barnes and Noble and has a neat little cd to make charts easily. My personal favorite is The New Astrology. It has 144 descriptions because it combines the Western (our) zodiac with the Eastern (Chinese) horoscope for a much better description. It's quite accurate. This one is also about $16 at B&N.

I'm not into Numerology enough to give you a good source.

I would suggest starting with these: The Icelandic Sagas, The Poetic Edda, Freya Aswynn's Northern Mysteries in Magik (Freya Asywnn is great), Northern Magik by Eddred Thorrson (Eddred Thorrson has many great books), The masks of Odin, Myths of the Norsemen. That is just to get started. Good luck and enjoy your studies. Can I make a suggestion if I may? I have studied many paths on my way to my own and one thing that made it easier to understand another way of being and believing was to put aside (to be retrieved later) all that I believe now and be open to experiencing it as though it was my way. Live it for a while, do it, and how they did it and maybe a little about why will dawn on you naturally. And when your studies are done you can integrate what you have learned with what you already know. Good luck and enjoy!

I'm fascinated by numerology. I strongly believe that numbers reflect certain aptitudes and character tendencies, as an integral part of the cosmic plan. Each letter has a numeric value that provides a related cosmic vibration. The sum of the numbers in your birth date and the sum of value derived from the letters in the name provide an interrelation of vibrations. These numbers show a great deal about character, purpose in life, what motivates, and where talents may lie.

I think the best book on astrology is the "LINDA GOODMAN'S" in PAN BOOKS.
There is the Linda Goodman's LOVE SIGNS
Linda Goodman's SUN SIGNS &
Linda Goodman's STAR SIGNS.
These books r the best.
I'm not sure of numerology.
