I'm affectionate with everyone. Love involves commitment and loyalty...very few fall under that category.

Love is indefinitely stronger than affection. I'll put it this way, at the risk of sounding cheesy: affection is like a nudge you feel in your heart while love is the push that makes you fall over backwards. Affection would be a hug between friends, family or pets; a kiss would be that something more shared between lovers.
Hopefully that makes sense.

Affection is any fond feeling toward someone. Love is a feeling that you need the person in your life in order to be truly happy. Affection is expressed on a casual, whenever I see you basis, often times - while love needs a fix every day it seems.
Peace!

Love is deeper and more permanent that just affections. Think of this way Love is the essence, embodiment where affections is the symptoms of love. Love lasts, affections come and go, they are up and down, Love endures, it grows, it keeps loving after the feelings have worn off. Love empowers affections. affection never is long lasting without love as it seat and motivation.

Affection you feel for your family, friends. I think love is what you feel for the "one" and it can be expressed by romantic kisses, hugs and intimacy.
