You can try soaking them in OxiClean for a couple of days. That has worked for me on old clothes that have been packed away for years. It works wonders.

Stain removal depends a lot on the type of stain. The solutions are as varied as the stains. Have you checked tide.com web site for their stain removal advice?

Faded stains are pemanent stains so just burn em, toss em or give em away.

Try Oxyclean... If they are white or light in color also hanging in the sun will help.
