It depends if he already has court ordered child support. If he doesn't, then you have to file for that before you start thinking about having money taken out of his check. If you are on any type of public assistance, you can contact your case worker. If those situations do not apply to you, get in contact with your state Child Support Enforcement Agency ( I know Virginia has one ). And make sure that you give him the reminder that having past due child support on your credit report is hell. In Virginia, it is illegal to finance anything with past due child support up there, so if he thinks he is just affecting you and your childs life, it will defintely come back to haunt him. Good luck with collecting!

Contact your local CHILD SUPPORT ENFORCEMENT AGENCY...if your "babies daddy" signed the birth certificate it will be a little easier. If not he can request proof of paternity which can take much longer. If you let him know you are about to do this, maybe ya'll can work something out. Once garnishment starts it will never ever end til age of majority...just remind him of that!

The district attorney. Actually all you need to do is go to the courthouse in your county, file a support order, and they will help u from there. Or if needed, apply for Welfare, they do all the work for u.
