I think it is Luther Vandross, but I am not sure. I want to sing it for an open mic night, but that is the only part of the song I know.

The song was originally sang, by The Carpenters and for that time, had success. It's mostly remembered by, the late crooner, Luther Vandross, "Superstar." A great song either way! Here's some further information:

I am sure you will rock the house! Good luck and be Safe...(smiles)

Yes, I do believe that Luther Vandross does have a version. I think the song is called "Long Ago" and it was originally done by the Carpenters in the 70's, I also think that Johnny Mathis has a version.

Good luck!

superstar by the carpenters-Long ago and oh so far away

I fell in love with you before the second show

Your guitar, it sounds so sweet and clear

But youre not really here

Its just the radio

(*) dont you remember you told me you loved me baby

You said youd be coming back this way again baby

Baby, baby, baby, baby, oh, baby, I love you I really do

Loneliness is a such a sad affair

And I can hardly wait to be with you again

What to say to make you come again

Come back to me again

And play your sad guitar

Repeat (*) twice
