The initial reason Mr. King joined the civil rights movement was Rosa Parks was arrested for not giving up her seat on a bus to a white man. On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to comply with the Jim Crow laws that required her to give up her seat to a white man. The Montgomery Bus Boycott, led by King, soon followed.

Well there are many reasons and some are listed there. but there is another, well Martin was just a small boy he had a white freind and then one day his freinds mam wouldn't let martin and the white kid play toget, i think that, that issue sacred his mind foever.
