September - Earth, Wind and Fire - Verdine White's amazing!

I Was Made to Love Her - Stevie Wonder - the father of modern bass guitar James Jamerson at his greatest.

Bernadette - Four Tops - Jamerson again, another of his classics

I Want You Back - Jackson 5 - I think this is the great Chuck Rainey, the bass line IS the life blood of the song

Some more difficult stuff for later:
What's Going On - Marvin Gaye - Jamerson's bass opus
A Remark You Made - Weather Report - Jaco Pastorious, revolutionary
Hejira - Joni Mitchell - More Jaco - more revolutionary fretless work

Best to you.

I've always found Green Day songs such as Long View, or When I Come Around are fairly simple, but not too easy...kind of difficult, and very catchy and sound great and fun. They will keep your fingers moving fast and teach you good bass fills. Have fun!
