No, physically running by itself is unlikely to lead to a miscarriage unless you have been told to rest. If you have elvated blood pressure then exercise such as running is not avisable during pregnancy. Also there is speculation between some doctors that heavy excercise raises bloood flow and reduces the supply to the feutus. Also regular running is thought to lower levels of progesterone which creates lining in early pregnancy. Most gyms can provide an alternate form of exercise for pregnant women. Also with extra weight from pregnancy you are likely to become tired easier so really running is not the best way to exercise. In saying all of this it is always best to ask your GP as i dont know your medical details

When I was at disneyland they told me that the rocking, josteling and rolling motions of the rides could cause a miscarriage in some women.

However, I also know women who have run until delivering - even marathons.

You should check with your doctor to see what is appropriate for you in your situation. If you are in good physical condition with no reason for concern over the viability of your pregnancy then the doctor is likely to tell you it's ok.

light jogging is okay and so is water jogging. i don't know how many people have had a miscarriage after jogging, but i do know a girl from my highschool and ran a mile when she was about 4 months pregnant and had a miscarriage...i think as long as you don't run long distances and don't run for long periods of time, you should be ok. ask your dr. to be sure.

Careful with this one. It is very important for you to see a Doctor before you start practicing any sport. There has been cases, and if you have a special pregnancy the doctor will be able to tell you,

there are a lot of things to consider in this question...like have you been running for long? how far do you run? indoor or outdoor? the best thing is to ask your doctor if it is safe...generally, if you are a regular seasoned runner, i have seen our docs say its ok as long as its indoors, your comfortable and there are no other health risks involved...good luck!!

it may not, but why risk it? there are plenty of things you can do to maintain your fitness (if thats why you're asking) other than running. i'd recommend you go for walks, do yoga, or anything less strenuos instead of running.
